The ACBOE instituted a de facto change model to guide many of their actions impacting curriculum decision making at the institutional, instructional, and operational levels. This chapter encapsulates the district's collective decision making relating to school improvement, including the implementation of the Digital Age Best Practices into three successive stages: Building Capacity, Implementing Change, Sustaining Independence.
Building Capacity
Building Capacity establishes the foundation for change. This stage focuses on understanding the obstacles that inhibit stakeholders from realizing their instructional or organizational goals while enhancing their abilities through strategically placed professional development.
