Chapter 24: My Small Corner
The management committee wanted to develop the organisation further by making it into an umbrella organisation for all other groups representing disability in the borough. The membership was open to groups and individuals. These were represented on our management committee. Soon there were plans to have a purpose built building for HDA. The association also changed its name to Haringey Disabilities Consortium (HDC). A new building was indeed very exciting news. A few sites in the borough were identified for this purpose and a building fund was set up.
