The Future of Theories and Cultures
This final chapter opens with a brief recounting of the main purposes of previous chapters, then continues with estimates of the likely nature of theories of development and of cultures in the years ahead. As those estimates propose, trends in theorizing over recent decades suggest that models of human development will increase in number, diversity, and specificity over the coming years. Trends in cultures portend fewer varieties of culture across the world but more diversity within any given society.
