Understanding and addressing the mental health needs of Middle Eastern individuals and communities is critical given the increasing population of Middle Easterners in the United States. The risk factors (e.g., discrimination, pre-immigration stress) this population experiences for mental health concerns, cultural considerations, and the dearth of research focusing on this population are presented in this chapter.
