While I was a doctoral student in Buffalo, New York, I did my clinical counseling internship at the university’s counseling center. This was a good-sized counseling center, and we served a large population of undergraduate and graduate students. The counseling center staff comprised a number of skilled clinicians from a variety of disciplines, as well as a handful of graduate student interns like me. We generally met with our clients once a week, and we also met weekly for scheduled clinical case consultations, as well as for individual and group supervision.
