In this chapter I will resume the discussion on interactions started in Chapter 2. In that chapter I sketched the main outlines of the concept, in order to familiarise the reader with some of the main ideas implied in its conceptualisation, and to underline the importance of the concept for the book as a whole. I return to this exercise by working out some new aspects that in the earlier presentation did not receive full attention. This applies in particular to the ‘twin’ concept of interdependence and inter-penetration, helpful in sustaining the central position of interactions.
