This book brings together the themes of gender, sexuality, violence and organizations. The authors synthesize the literature and research which has been done in these fields and provide a coherent framework for understanding the inter-relationship between these concepts. The importance of violence and abuse, and particularly men's violence to women, children and other men has been well established, especially through feminist and some pro-feminist research. The insights of this scholarship have rarely been applied to organizational analysis. This chapter addresses violence and violation in relation to organization theory. Following a review of some contributions from organization theory, a theoretical framework for analysing organization violations is outlined. We conclude with a discussion of the interconnections of organization violations.
