I am not a particularly competitive person. This proved somewhat of a handicap when I was in sales; I tended to want to spend my time servicing existing accounts and left the cold calls I needed to make (for the purpose of generating new business) for another day. Although I counted among my friends many of the salespeople in my company, we tended to compete against one another for the sales prizes that typically went to the top performers.
