Life does not consist mainly, or even largely, of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thought that is forever flowing through one's head.
Intelligence is about our cognitive abilities, that is, our ability to think, to analyse, to recall, to predict and to calculate. Emotional intelligence is about our capacity to think in these ways about emotions; to be able to recognise and consider our own emotions and that of others and use our insights with wisdom and compassion. Developing emotional intelligence means learning thinking skills specific to feelings.
