In Chapters 5 and 6, dilemmas faced by principals in making leadership and management decisions in their schools were discussed. Although our study was not focused specifically on the ethics of leadership, they impinged upon it during the course of the research because of what principals were saying. This chapter examines in more depth the issues which touched on ethical decision-making. It then presents data gathered by different methods, including examples of the ethical dilemmas principals face in the everyday operation of self-managed schools.
