Some researchers have proposed taking what is called in social sciences the ‘practice turn’ (Schatzki et al., 2001) for studying leadership (Alvesson and Sveningsson, 2003a, 2003b; Carroll et al., 2008; Knights and Willmott, 1992) grounded in social theories of practice. A practice perspective focuses on human action and praxis in order to understand how people participate in the production and reproduction of organization and society and in this case of leadership.
