This chapter considers the various debates relating to contemporary globalization as a social, cultural, economic and political combination of processes. The relationship between globalization and education is explored through a selected group of issues that refer to knowledge production and curriculum change, the internationalizing of education, the role of the Internet in creating online communities and debates concerning feminism. The chapter then goes on to explore the inter-relationship between globalization, social justice and environmental justice, and argues that environmental justice is social justice and that educational institutions can have a negative and a positive impact in this arena.
