Information and communication technology in its many forms can be a very powerful tool in poetry teaching. For a number of the poets featured in the previous chapter, the word processor is a vital tool in the drafting process. This chapter will consider the different ways in which ICT can support the teaching of poetry writing. These include: drafting on screen; using e-mail and conferencing; using CD-ROM packages and other software; strategies for teaching the fast developing subgenre of text message poetry; accessing websites; using OHTs as well as audio and video materials.
