In this chapter, we explore action research as a strategy for developing evidence-based practice in the coaching context. Traditional research approaches may be unable to answer some questions about the professional practice of coaching: the confidential nature of the coaching relationship requires a research approach that takes account of the intimate and experiential nature of the interaction.
