Warm up Activity

Balloons

In this activity the teacher will need to have collected together two or three balloons which can have been blown up prior to the start of the session. If the group is particularly large, it may be helpful to have six or eight balloons ready. The facilitator then explains that the object of the game is to keep the balloons in the air at all times. Each pupil in the group must, however, remain in their space at the front of their chair. They can reach in, out, or to the side in order to prevent the balloon from touching the floor but they are not allowed to leave the spot on which they are standing or sitting.
