This chapter uses the Latina/o Skills Identification Stage Model (L-SISM; Chapter 5, this volume) to frame the description of a culturally responsive, empirically supported intervention delivered to a Latina/o family, the Mercaders, who experienced conflict, in part associated with their adolescent son's behavior. Because the intervention was not originally guided by the L-SISM, this chapter examines the L-SISM's ability to accurately capture culturally responsive features of this intervention.
