Praxis Point 1: Popular Culture, Fandom, and Boundaries
In the next three chapters we offer examples of praxis: specific, classroom-based examples of critical literacy, combined with a reflexive interrogation of those practices. With each snapshot, we provide a description of the setting, participants, and activities and then move to reflect upon this usage of critical literacy. In reviewing these examples, we are not as concerned with “did it work?” but a more textured perspective for determining how these instances of practice can help to inform the theory of critical literacy.
