A common belief among product development leaders is that if you expose ideas too soon, “corporate antibodies” will concentrate their efforts to “cleanse the organism” of the new threat. I still think that covert “skunkworks” are important at the beginning stages of product development. It is a lot easier to sell a prototype than an idea on paper.
