Preparing for the diversity story includes all the techniques of preparing for any news story. First, there must be “news.” News is a report of a recent event. For example, “A five-alarm fire destroyed most of the old Wells Fargo building in downtown Fremont early today.” A diversity angle might be that the building had been donated for use by the community as a rehabilitation center for the disabled.
