A high school English teacher in Chicago named Kate Tabor told a story that's similar to many others I have encountered in schools and colleges around the country, where student creative work is increasingly being forbidden from being screened, shared, or displayed. Her colleague, Mr. Taylor, was an English teacher whose students were reading Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. He wanted to engage the large number of students whose heads were on their desks or who were simply going through the motions. Mr. Taylor's assignment to his students was unusual: reedit a short image sequence from The Simpsons to convey a scene from Romeo and Juliet.
