The previous chapter set out the steps to implementing cooperative learning ending with Step 5, that is, how to incorporate it into lessons. This will now be examined in detail.

Incorporating Cooperative Learning into Lessons

The majority of lessons will benefit from informal cooperative learning, using learning partners as discussed on page 43. Figure 6.1 illustrates the benefits of providing partner work to support learning across the curriculum. See also Appendix 8 for a range of quick cooperative learning starter activities.
