Consensus Organizing in Context
Section I creates the context for consensus organizing: how it compares to other community organizing approaches; how social, economic, and political issues and trends impact low-income communities and the work of a consensus organizer; and how several strategic principles undergird the consensus organizing approach. Chapter 1 discusses the importance of social capital to community organizing and the development of civically engaged and vibrant communities.
