15.1 Introduction
It is worth remembering that, during the business tenancy, there is little statutory interference with the contract made by the original parties: the law that applies to business tenancies applies to all tenancies (though it must be conceded that the Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995 is most likely to apply to business tenancies). The security of tenure legislation has to do only with what happens at the end of the contractual term. In many jurisdictions, business tenants have no security of tenure. In England and Wales, most business tenants may enjoy the protection of their tenancy under Part II of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 (the 1954 Act).
