Let's start the conversation on co-planning by establishing this fact: Walking into the room two minutes before class and saying, “So, what are we going to do today?” does not constitute co-planning. Prior planning is vital to delivering services in an inclusive classroom. When a special educator walks into a room without planning in advance with her general educator counterpart, this has a negative impact on both teachers and students.
