Chapter 3: Who does Teacher Collaboration and ESL Co-Teaching Concern?
Who does Teacher Collaboration and ESL Co-Teaching Concern?
We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.
The goal of this chapter is to identify all stakeholders in a multilingual educational community and to describe their unique roles and responsibilities in developing and sustaining a collaborative school culture. We will present and analyze the unique experiences (both benefits and challenges) each constituent encounters while teachers engage in collaborative practices and co-teaching for the benefit of English language learners. We will consider the roles played by those who initiate, design, implement, monitor, and evaluate collaborative practices for the sake of ELLs.
