Children and youth who witness wife assault/domestic violence are a neglected high-risk group. They are at greatly elevated risk of becoming involved in violent relationships, both with peers and in adult relationships. In addition, they are at significantly elevated risk for a wide spectrum of serious emotional and behavioral problems, and their school achievement is often compromised. Yet their needs remain poorly recognized and understood.
