Implementing the Vision
In the implementation phase of the organization's vision, the charismatic leader faces three fundamental challenges: (1) ensuring high levels of follower commitment and performance; (2) instilling in followers the values, beliefs, and behaviors necessary for the vision's realization; and (3) devising and executing strategic initiatives that further the vision in the marketplace. All these activities are necessary to ensure that the lofty and demanding goals of the vision will be accomplished. In this chapter, we examine how the charismatic leader achieves these outcomes.
