I would not be offended if you were to consider it superfluous for me to be offering advice and guidance on how to apply for a job at this stage of your working life. Nevertheless, my research shows that the majority of aspirant headteachers rush into their application, often more enamoured with the thought of headship than in examining closely the implications of a particular post. There are two key components of the application process and most attention is usually given by an applicant to presenting themselves in the best way possible in order to be the chosen one.
