I now want to move from examinations of the personal and the individual in communities to broader sociopolitical applications of alternative media. In this chapter and the next I explore some of the ways in which the transformation of roles and responsibilities I have proposed as a theoretical construct is developed in practice by contemporary alternative media producers.
