Race is omnipresent in American society; its reality confronts us in all our daily activities. The historical legacy of race relations challenges us in the execution of our daily professional activities. Attitudes about race often make it difficult for friendships to develop across racial group boundaries. Impacts of race occur on individual and institutional levels.
