This chapter offers guidance on organising your placement files. We wish to stress that this is only one suggested model. Your ITT provider may have a specific format for you to follow and, if so, you should adhere to this. Your files provide you with the opportunity to evidence your achievements against both the QTS standards and the Ofsted criteria for evaluating trainees' performance. The documentation and evidence within your files will be carefully scrutinised by school mentors and provider link tutors. School-based mentors will already have a very clear, sound knowledge and understanding of your performance against the standards.
