Bullock, Georgia (1874–1957)

Georgia Bullock was born in 1874 in Chicago, Illinois. She married and had a son and a daughter. Her husband either died or left while the children were young, and she raised them alone while she went to law school. She helped establish a legal society for women called Phi Delta Delta in 1912 while she was in law school. She volunteered as a juvenile probation officer of Los Angeles County from 1913 to 1914 and graduated from the University of Southern California Law School in Los Angeles in 1914. From 1915 to 1917 she was a referee for women's cases before the Police Court in Los Angeles until she became deputy district attorney in 1917. Bullock was judge pro tem, Superior Bench, in 1922 ...
