Revirginization is the act of regaining one's virginity, after having had sexual intercourse once or many times, through spiritual or surgical means. As conceptions of virginity are highly influenced by religion, motivations for revirginization are often religious in nature. Women may also seek revirginization to comply with familial or cultural expectations. Both spiritual and surgical revirginizations are gaining popularity in the United States and can be seen in many other countries today.
