Panchita's House (La Casa de Panchita) opened in 1998 as a place for domestic workers in Lima, Peru, to meet and support one another. It offers visitors a wide array of resources and activities, some of which are free of charge. Services include tutoring, English and computer classes, employment and placement in domestic services, legal advice in labor problems, consultation about sexual and reproductive health, self-esteem workshops, and recreational outings. In addition to these resources, Panchita's House advocates for domestic workers to maintain contact with their family and friends.
