Niger, one of the world’s poorest countries, also has the world’s highest birthrate. The government has developed a family planning campaign to encourage families to space out the births of their children.

The pill, condoms, you name it: contraception is freely available and free in Niger. But it’s not easy to find people who use it: only an estimated 5% use any form of contraception in this land wracked by poverty which also boasts the world’s highest birthrate.
