James Huberty was raised in a strict Christian family. According to reports, he was a socially isolated child and was convinced that the world would come to an end. In preparation for this eventuality, Huberty began collecting weapons and saving supplies. Although others report that he often spoke of violence, he had never acted on his thoughts.
