The Genovese Crime Family

The Genovese crime family is one of the five major organized crime families of New York, with about 300 members and associates. The first Don was Charles “Lucky” Luciano, and current leadership consists of Vincent “the Chin” Gigante (serving a 12-year sentence in Fort Worth, Texas) and Dominick “Quiet Dom” Cirillo. Major illicit activities of the organization include narcotics, loan-sharking, extortion, pornography, racketeering, restaurants, seafood distribution, and vending machines. The Genovese family is best known for the quiet and reserved manner in which they conduct business.
