Family Homicide

For an unfortunate minority of people, family life consists of a series of personal intrusions, abuses of personal rights, assaults on both body and mind, and even severe trauma—to the extent of homicide within their own homes, committed by members of their own family.

There are several forms of family murder, or intrafamilial homicide, the most prevalent being sponsicide/intimaticide, or the killing of one's spouse or intimate partner. Neonaticide is the murdering of a newborn within the first 24 hours of life. Infanticide is the murdering of a child from 1 day old up to 5 years of age.
