Transparency International

Transparency International (TI) is a global nongovernmental organization (NGO) and international movement working to identify and tackle domestic and transnational corruption in public and private sectors. The NGO is a worldwide coalition created to bring together key people in order to raise public attention, diminish tolerance, and devise strategies to respond to corruptive practices and behavior. Established in May 1993 by founding chairman Peter Eigen and a group of individuals who shared a common vision and have personally experienced corruption, TI aims to provide a world free of corruption and one in which the daily lives of people and various aspects of society can operate free from the devastating and far-reaching effects of corruption.
