Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana is a seaside region in the Dominican Republic province of La Altagracia. Its popularity as a balneario (developed beach town) has spurred its growth and popularity since the 1970s. Attracting vacationers in pursuit of its sugar-sand beaches and crystal blue waters, Punta Cana offers over 50 hotels.
