Palestine

Palestine can refer both to the historic region of Palestine and to the state recognized by most UN member states, although not by Israel and the United States. It is located on the crossroads between three continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe. Palestine is a main destination for pilgrimage, religious tourism, and cultural tourism. Pilgrims of the three monotheistic or Abrahamic religions, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, are known to have traveled to what is often called the Holy Land, particularly to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron, and Nazareth, since the 2nd century CE. Bethlehem (Bayt Laḥm in Arabic, Bet Leḥem in Hebrew) is the most important tourist and pilgrimage site in the state of Palestine.
