The city of Mecca is located at the southwest of the Arabian Peninsula at 700 meters above sea level and has an area of 760 square kilometers. It is the capital city of the Mecca Province in Saudi Arabia, and has a population of 1.7 million inhabitants. It is one of the oldest cities in the region and is considered to be the spiritual capital for all Muslims as it was the birthplace of Muhammad, known as the prophet of Islam. One of the holiest and most famous cities in the world, Mecca attracts a large number of pilgrims, which led to the development of the tourism industry in this city. Pilgrims are tourists performing religious activities and visiting religious sites.
