Macau
Macau is situated in the south of China, and has a total area of 31.3 square kilometers. Macau, a special administrative region of China, is best known for its historical roots and Portuguese heritage as well as its gambling industry, which has led it to be called the Monte Carlo of the Orient. The unprecedented economic boom brought forth by the deregulation of the gaming industry transformed Macau into one of the most vibrant and exciting destinations in Asia. The local tourist board, Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), aims to make Macau a world center for tourism and leisure.
