Referred to affectionately as Jo’burg or Jozi by locals, Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa, with an estimated population of 4.4 million people in the municipality and a total of 7.8 million in the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan area. It is quickly becoming one of the top tourism destinations in the world. As the administrative center of Gauteng Province, the diverse city is home to the country’s Constitutional Court, as well as museums, important historical sites, art markets, shopping malls, and zoological parks.
