Hong Kong has many attributes of a top world city and tourist destination. Its dynamic working attitude has propelled it to the top of world cities and maintained it there for more than a decade. Correspondingly, its liberalizing tourism policies have allowed its tourism industry to expand continuously over that period. This growth has led to considerable challenges for its social carrying capacity. Yet Hong Kong is already responding with innovative tourism planning and policies, such as expansions and improvements of its tourist facilities and attractions.
