Despite a bad economy, in 2013 France was able to maintain its position as top touristic destination in the world in terms of international tourist arrivals, just in front of the United States. The diversity of its attractions, which include the arts, food, fashion, and sports; the nature of its patrimony; a very tight network of transportation; and a dynamic cultural offer enable the country to remain attractive. Furthermore, measures are regularly taken to try to adjust to the needs of national and international visitors.
