Egypt has long been known throughout the world as a cultural and leisure tourism destination. It is located in the northeastern corner of Africa and southwestern side of Asia and is bounded on the north by the Mediterranean Sea, on the east by Palestine and Israel, on the south by Sudan, and on the west by Libya. The total area of Egypt extends around 1 million square kilometers, while the populated area is only about 8% of this total area. As of 2016, Egypt’s population was estimated at 94.7 million.
