Destination Management Companies

Destination management refers to activities meant to increase the benefits of tourism to the host community or host country. Businesses involved with destination management include those that assist a guest on behalf of a tour operator or tour wholesaler. These companies may be responsible for “meet and greet” services at the point of entry, transfers between the point of entry to accommodation establishments, return to the point of entry, and purchase of tourism activities at the destination. In addition, such businesses may be the first point of contact with regard to any problems that the guest may encounter at the destination.
