Demand Side Tourism Sectors

Tourism is an economic activity and follows the same economic principles as in any other market. Economic activities are influenced by the demand and supply of tourism products and services, which are used by the Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) to provide a competitive framework for the measurement of tourism activities. Primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors influence the economic activities in tourism. The primary tourism sector refers to the primary reason for visiting a tourism destination, such as going to a major attraction at that destination. The secondary tourism sector can involve a tourism product, such as a side trip, that is not the primary reason for visiting the destination, but adds value to the overall tourism experience.
