Bosnia and Herzegovina is located on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. Political entities in the country have jurisdiction over tourism, with the state exercising a harmonizing and coordinating role. The law states that the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations is responsible for determining policy and basic principles, for coordination, and for harmonizing the plans of the entity governments with international institutions in the field of tourism. A tourism department has been set up within the Sector for Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Protection.
